I just discovered Orbx product there is some week ...by the good Melbourne product ! I am very impressed with the quality of your products.
I think are very important for a compagny "F.S. add-on" make some time a big airport, because with only small airfields, a lot of customer on the world never came to you ! That's Melbourne follow me to your Orbx products !
But I understant your decision make only a little airfield versus the dévelopment time !

I hope also ... on day ... there is YSSY for FSX ... by Aerosoft, Tampa, you or other compagnie ... for complete the major airport in each continent in the world

Well ... in some time ... there are scenery release "Antartica" ...
I hope also you have in your futur project with N.Z. terrain scenery ... ... NZCH "Christchurch int" airport .... that's the major airport for go to Antartica !
And ... there is not a big airport for dévelopment ...

Thank and sorry for bad English !

Good suggestion, we will look into it, for sure.

We are waiting on the completion of the new taller control tower which we will add into the next update, along with static aircraft and animated PeopleFlow.

John,
Will there be any performance enhancments for YMML, I just flew in there at night and was getting like 12 FPS, during the day its ok, but at night it awful, even worse them YBBN, maybe you could make the textures smaller resolution or something? I use the DAY/NIGHT FTX thing but it doesn't do anything for the actual airport. Any Idea when YMML upgrade we be avaible?

I get 29-35FPS at YMML with Day mode on, all sliders maxxed and full AI traffic. Not sure why you have low performance since your PC CPU specs are much higher than mine. May it could be your GPU? Until Day mode I never had autogen past Dense, now I can use YMML with Extremely Dense Autogen, which is pretty cool.

We have not fully decided how to tackle YMML V2.5 - I may ask Russ White to work on it with me and make a new ground poly and of course add all the PeopleFlow stuff and the new VehicleFlow ground equipment, i.e. catering trucks and baggage carts scurrying around. Should be a fun project.
Regards,
JV

YMML During the day is great, performance is way up there, its at night that kills my PC for some reason, even with the ORBX in Day mode, I think its the actual Textures of the Terminals itself.

At full night? Or dusk? Because at dusk the engine calls for big the day and night textures for the transition.

Just a quick question since NZ is about to become part of the FTX world:
Are Christchurch, Auckland and Wellington considered too big for OrbX hifi treatment?

I guess there are other developers that may do the International Airports for that part of the world. There are some around for other areas that are quite OK.

Kind Regards

Given Brisbane, Canberra Melbourne etc., I would hope that Orbx gives us at least one NZ International airport the treatment for those of us who will more than ever want to fly over the ditch.

Those YPPF shots look very, very early stages; some unprocessed photoreal imagery without cleanup, some FTX AU Traffic on top, a few light towers and not much else really. Be careful about underestimating just how much work is involved in those sort of large projects. If you guys are happy with just some raw photoreal ground imagery and not much else, I could (or almost anyone could) churn that out in about a week for all 4 majors Posted Image

Can't knock any offer of output but there's loads of photoreal stuff out there already? I think ORBX's great strength is that it brings more to the party?

View Postytzpilot, on 30 June 2011 - 05:21 AM, said:

Thanks John,
The one thing I will admit about photoreal ground imagery is it does add a level of realism without being a heavy hit on FPS performance. And if it is easy to produce I could only see that as a positive initiative.

Appreciate where you're coming from Matthew, but IMHO the best way forward is if ORBX make their products as compatible as possible with other publishers who already have a large catalogue of major airports? Something John already mentioned in other threads. Photoreal isn't that great for "LownSlow" ?

Looking at Aerosofts "Airport Enhancement Services"I noticed they have a list of all airports by all publishers that their package works with. It's interesting if only as a good reference list of available Large Airports. Staggering how many were done for FS9 compared to FSX, but John's comments on time taken to complete them probably explains that?

Yep you can put that on order for this Brit too ;D and if you continued with New England we'd have Boston Logan (already there from Tampa) for Jet Jocks and Plum Island for us $100 hamburger flyers raey to run in some decent scenery? Come to think of it that would give our Canadian Jet Jockey pals some East Coast Aiports to enjoy in ORBX and of course there are Vancouver and Seattle packages out there already in PNW. That way you'd have the scenery at it's best for your climb and descent stages where it counts most?

I haven't read all 9 pages... I for one don't even want large international FPS murdering airports. But I'd love to see more FPS friendly small/medium sized B737-6/7, A319/320 compatible airports. Like some of the aussie fields already are.

Well said Manuel,

I'm from Sydney and I've been waiting for these guys to do YSSY since forever.......and as you pointed out YSSY is the PREMIER large airport in Australia, better known to Australians and tourists than any other airport in Australia. I'm certain that not only will every ORBX customer in Australia purchase YSSY (including non-ORBX customers - small and large airports) but more foreign customers will buy YSSY than any of the other major Australian airports ORBX has produced thus far. No doubt about it.

Hi guys

not to dredge up an old post thread but, given the original announcement was made about 9 months ago, has anything changed in dev plans? I'm specifically after YSSY - whether we like it or not, this is the hub of aussie air traffic, especially online. I tend to do most of my flying with the v airlines and spend a lot of time going into/out of YSSY mainly because of the traffic and ATC online as against other major airports.

Hopefully you guys will seriously consider doing this. There's a big market of hardcore VA flyers who frequent YSSY and would love to see something better than the default.

From the numerous posts looking for an Orbx YSSY I wonder what the chances are of a rethink on this give that many would be happpy to wait an indeterminate period of time if they knew it was coming. Including prepaying for YSSY. the condition imposed by Orbx being that if insufficient pre-orders were placed and paid for , the deal was off. Refunds or credits on other Orbx products could then apply. For those who want YSSY by Orbx it would be a case of put up or shut up. I for one would be in.
