Hello all,

The latest version for the ORBX Migrator is now available.

This is a new complete version which replaces the previous 1.2 version. There is no need to have 1.2 installed prior to installing this latest version.

This new version now includes the links for CZST, 77S, W16 and KJAC. It also has made some changes to the behaviour of Control Panels due to the release of stand alone P3D installers. It also includes the latest ORBXLibs.

One question though:
I recently installed version 1.20 so:
Is there anything to take care of before running the installer for this latest version (1.30) of the migrator tool - such as backing up some files or copiing some into a certain folder or so ... - or is it straight forward:
.) Unzip,
.) Run installer,
.) Finish,
.) Exit
.. so to say

Just wanted to make sure, this is an update to the current migrator that simply links various Orbx files in the FSX folder to P3D? It is not the version you mentioned a couple of days ago being developed that will actually move the Orbx files to the P3D folder?

Absolutely safe. It should ignore the FSX KJAC install and use your P3D version.

Do you mean the Library Insertion point feature of FTX Central? Yes, it still is.
Or do you mean this Migrator tool? No, it uses your installed airport/region cfg files.

Great job Ed, thanks. Just to get it straight in this old head of mine. Where do I install future purchases. I am running dual P3D/FSX on two drives. So I can I safely install to both drives and then I should not deed to run Migration or Move is this correct? Thanks

Absolutely correct Mac, install future products into each sim and no need for anything else.

All future products will be dual sim installers, so the Migrator tool is used for 2 purposes, to link legacy products to P3D and for users who wish to save hard drive space.

Don't know whether this is the right forum to bring this up but I have just had to reformat hard drive and am reinstaling my programs. I'm happy with P3D and don't necessarily want to install FSX. However I have purchased most of the Orbx software and would really like to have them in P3D. Is there some way to do this without installing FSX?

Hello Ed,

I just ran the Orbx P3d Migrator Tool V1.3, but I stopped it when I read the language that says:

"....This program will install the Orbx Side By Side Migration Tool For P3D Version 1.30. Some local files required will be written to the "ORBX" folder inside the Prepar3D root folder. This target location is fixed and cannot be changed...."

My QUESTION is is the ORBX subfolder in P3D a fixed location or is there an assumption that P3D is installed inside <C:\program files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d> etc/ My FSX is in E:/FSX and my Prepare3d is in E:\Prepar3d.....does the warning above correctly lead me to believe the migrator tool won't work if you don't have Prepar3d and FSX in their 'default' locations?? If that's the case I suppose I would have to reinstall Prepar3d and that would be a pain.

The installer will get the install path from your registry, so it doesn't matter where it (P3D) is installed. The message refers to the fact that the ORBX folder needs to be located within the P3D file structure.
Hope that clears that up.
