Thank you Tom.
If there is one thing I would like to see with small airstrips, it would be to include some smoke effects, either from a chimney or someone burning leaves in the yard.

It would make it much easier to find these airstrips from a few miles away.

Any hints on the farmer's field strip? I'll never find it - took me about 6 circles to find 4WA8 lol

There are three download servers alan .. have you tried the Google or new Orbx Cloud for download yet ?

Thanks Jay , just finished d/l check time stamp ,started yesterday !. @around 8kb's the Google cloud told me that I was done, about a second after clicking on to it . Maybe I was so slow it tricked it , tried several times . The Orbx cloud worked fine :)

Now off to check out Tom's airfields ...( thanks again)...

Hi Tom,

I already made several approaches on 7WA3 and 4WA8 and I love it to do. Thanks again for making it.
But: I can't find the unmarked strip. Can you give me a screenshot or the distance and heading from 7WA3 to the strip.
Thanks in advance

Regards
Bert

The unmarked strip should be very close to Riverside. Looking North, it is located on its left side. BTW is one of the best unmarked strip I have ever seen.

Just the last one! Order FSS0306812

I agree matey. It's surprising how such a small thing like a flag can help increase the immersion level... unlike the drooped windsok that hangs like an old man's limp......

In the quick user guide Tom Brooks wrote: "just land on the river and taxi up between the trees, though watch for the bridge . . . ."
I found the bridge 1 mile on heading 290 from 4WA8 Riverside. But where is the strip ? ??? .
Maybe Tom can help us ?

regards
Bert

I found it finally... (and only by accident - I took off from the roundabout over the bridge lol)

It's off my nose (and someone said north of the roundabout - it's west of the roundabout):

Thanks everyone for you gracious comments.

This scenery could not have been done with all the help from some great people. I like to thank Ken for getting me started and making me go back and back to get the colors correct and moving me along. The next two are Alex and Tim for all the support they have given me. The late night "help" skype calls, where with out there guidance I would be still out there. Thanks to Vlad with his directions and strait to the point comments which I needed, a lot of. Heiko, Russ and Jarrad for there advice and pointers along the the way. Thanks to John V. for the confidence and last but not least to the best Beta Team. They know what to look for and help you along. So to Wolter, Friedi, Aaron, Phil, Craig, Patrick, Jeff and Gary and everyone else I left out thanks. So to all of them and everyone else I say thank you and My Fun has just begun. If you like this just wait.

Skulleader, sorry I tried to put in vines into a couple of the areas to show corn and things, though the FPS rate to too big of a hit and the consensus was to take the chainsaw and cut them down.

Thanks,
Tom.
Cheers,
Tom.

Thanks ryanbatc; yes there it is ! ! ! . Just 1 mile from Riverside near the bridge. A beautiful strip (thanks Tom Brooks) with a plane in the river and one near the buildings.

The river is a great spot to land there and near Riverside 4WA8, just west of the field I have landed a beaver there(in the sim, of course). Try heading towards the bank and then slope into the river heading north. That is a fun approach. Happy flying.
Tom.
Cheers,
Tom.

Now this is lovely scenery! Perfect for the low and slow flying I mostly do. The river is beautifully done. I love the nice touch of flashing railroad crossing lights (even if they are a bit too bright), and the airports are superb. Riverside has an incredibly challenging approach from the west! Trees right in the way, and power lines just beyond them. And the tree line at the eastern edge is no piece of cake for takeoff in that direction either!

I'm not sure why someone was wishing for smoke effects earlier. Every strip has them. And the moving flag which responds to wind direction at 7WA3 IS a very nice touch!

The farmer's strip has a great Lake pulled up to the shore of the river near the western threshold.

I love all the ag equipment scattered throughout the fields as well, and the granary (I suppose it is) at trackside all make this scenery come alive. Feels almost like actually flying. Perfect for the Cub (or the new little freeware Ercoupe I just flew around the area in).

Thanks so much for a lovingly detailed area for the taildragger/grass strip enthusiasts among us.

I had not that much time to take a closer look but today I just took my time and made some traffic circuits with the Piper Cub and I really love this scenery. It has a realistic feel and look. I hardly cant believe that I wasnt there for real today but only simming :) Great work. I am looking forward to your next work. Keep em coming ;)

Thank you Tom and the rest of the Orbx team for this great and detailed scenery. It all looks very realistic flying around, you've done a fantastic job. I have yet to find the unmarked strip but I am enjoying looking for it.

I look forward to your next creation.
