Piracy and downloading torrents is theft. Please don't steal Orbx software.

Please acknowledge that these are the privately owned and operated support and community forums of Orbx Simulations Systems Pty. Ltd. and as such your use of them is governed by a set of rules which will be strictly enforced. Purchasing any Orbx software is a purchase of a right-to-use license for that software, but it does not give you the right to contravene these forum terms of use. Whilst we encourage freedom of speech and a friendly atmosphere, please do not be offended by the actions of the Orbx staff or its moderators in enforcing any of the terms of use of these forums.

Please do NOT complain to us about deleted posts. Posts can and will be deleted from time to time by Orbx staff if their content breaches the terms of use or is deemed inappropriate or deemed to be inciting flame posts. Posts can and will be deleted without an explanation to the original poster.

If you do not like or agree with the way these forums are operated and run, or our rules listed below, then you may request your forum user account to be deleted or not visit our forums again.

IMPORTANT: No order number - no support. More information click here.

Orbx Forum Terms of Use:
  • 1 ) While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters.
  • 2 ) Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, inflammatory posts, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or the such. This includes topics which have little interest to the predominately international user community here.
  • 3 ) Please do not post a thread using CAPS for the subject to attract attention, it is considered to be shouting and rude. Orbx staff may use CAPS for important announcements, such as product releases or community announcements
  • 4 ) Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.
  • 5 ) Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members.
  • 6 ) Please wait a reasonable amount of time before bumping posts. For style changes and general 'how-to' questions this should be 24 hours. For specific troubleshooting issues, use 12 hours as a guideline.
  • 7 ) We also do not allow posts that are sexual (even subtle sexual innuendo), political, race-oriented, religious in nature or violate Orbx community standards. The Orbx staff shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards.
  • 8 ) Discussion of illegal activities such as tips for software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.
  • 9 ) Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.
  • 10 ) While we are quite happy to have constructive comparative conversations about competitor's products, we will not tolerate blatant adverts for competitors software. Also, we would appreciate it if you refrain from blatant bashing of other boards or Orbx competitor's products. If you wish to make comparisons to competitive products please do so in the form of a balance pros/cons review or discussion.
  • 11 ) We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
  • 12 ) If you are going to post non-English on these forums, please also post an English Translation of your post.
  • 13 ) Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.
  • 14 ) You cannot post any affiliate or referral links, or post anything asking for a referral. Such posts will be subject to removal.
  • 15 ) You cannot post advertisements or notices for contests, nor may you post links to other developer's or publisher's sales, discounts or special deals. This is the private Orbx forums and we aren't a marketing platform for other companies. Please respect that.
  • 16 ) We also reserve the right to limit anyone's forum access who wilfully violates the forum rules, as access to our support forums are a privilege and not a right. We deem these "Limited Users". A Limited User is still entitled to support from the support system (unless in the case of piracy - see below).
  • 17 ) Do NOT post release announcements for *any* other company or developer's flight simulation addon products for FSX or Prepar3D. There are many other places where those developers can release their news and make those announcements, but these forums are not the appropriate place for them.
  • 18 ) If a Limited User creates a new account under a new name with a new email address and gets found out, even if the Limited User is no longer violating the EULA, the new user account in question will be also limited without warning, there will be no discussion or correspondence regarding the limited access decision.
  • 19 ) A user may not post a message on the Orbx forums on behalf of a limited user.
  • 20 ) Limited Users can still receive legitimate support by accessing a special support forum only visible to Limited Users (unless in the case of piracy - see below)
  • 21 ) The Private Message (PM) system on these forums is strictly for private communication between registered members and is not to be used for support issues. Anyone who posts the contents of a PM on any public external forums including these Orbx forums will be instantly banned for life. Orbx respects people's privacy and divulging the contents of a PM is seen as a serious breach of privacy. The PM system can not be used for Orbx support and all such PMs are disabled or ignored.
  • 22 ) All text typed into forum posts automatically becomes the property of Orbx Simulations Systems Pty. Ltd. and can and may be used for product marketing, testimonials and/or evidence of forum misconduct. If you do not wish your text to become Orbx property then do not post on these forums. Orbx reserves the right to remove, repurpose or delete any text typed into any posts or subforums. All screenshots displayed in forum posts can and may possibly be used for Orbx marketing, promotional material or form part of product design or brochures or used on web sites, regardless if those images are hosted on an Orbx-owned site or not. If you do NOT wish for Orbx to use your screenshots or images, then do not post them on these forums. Do NOT post images for which you do not have the right to display on these forums without the original author's permission.
  • 23 ) These rules may be revised from time to time. Members are responsible for periodically reviewing these rules to ensure compliance. If you have any questions about any particular rule(s) email any one of our moderators or the owners of this board. Forum rules & guidelines are not up for debate. This is not a democracy but rather a private forum and NOT a public forum. Anyone openly debating the rules we have set in place will be removed. If you do not accept the rules, then simply do not register and visit this site.
Advertising Services and Solicitation
  • We do not allow people to post threads or to send private messages or emails to users here that advertise or solicit any products, services, funds or donations. Explicit advertising and solicitating in signatures is also prohibited.
  • We do not allow people to post links to other forums or website for "farming" purposes, i.e. posts specifically designed to promote contests, VA's, special offers, rewards, or designed to get traffic to other websites. If anyone specifically wants to promote a VA or FS-related site, then they should first contact Orbx staff to get permission to do. We also do not allow first-time posters (ie. people with < 10 posts) to link to other sites. In summary, any "farming" style posts will be immediately removed without explanation.
Screenshots and Videos
  • Please refrain from posting links to, or screenshots or videos which highlilght or promote other vendors' scenery products. Since Orbx is a scenery vendor and this is a privately owned vendor forum, it is inappropriate to show screenshots or videos from competiting vendors' products
  • Exceptions to the above are: other vendors' aircraft, environment addons, or any addon which is not scenery related.

  • Threads and/or screenshots featuring aircraft and add-ons from 3rd party developers may be removed at our discretion. An explanation may or may not be given.

Scenery images from OZx Airports are acceptable since they are made to work with FTX terrain. Also, scenery addons by Holger Sandmann, Bill Womack and Jon Patch are acceptable since Holger and Bill's products for FTX PNW are also published through Orbx
Piracy, Torrent and Orbx Customer Support Policy
  • Orbx has a strict anti-piracy anti-torrent zero tolerance policy. Please do not steal our software. We have the ability to detect if forum members are actively downloading torrents of our products and these users will incurr an instant full ban without explanation or any grace at all. We strong object to any argument that torrents can be used to 'try before you buy'. Theft is theft, and we have no tolerance for it. We have two large demo regions, freeware, videos, 3D virtual tours, press and customer reviews and forum community feedback and screenshots to provide you with more than enough information about any product you may consider for purchase.
  • Customer Support - Any forum member who is caught downloading torrents of Orbx products will also forfeit all their rights to product support for any and all Orbx products they have purchased in the past. This is not negotiable. Put simply, we don't want you as a customer if you steal from us.
Signature Image Size Limitations

All signature images are to be restricted as follows:

1. Only one signature image per person (choose which you prefer)
2. Size limit of 500 pixels by 120 pixels please

Links in Sigs

Links in signatures must follow these guidelines:
  • Linking to a commercial product/service is fine, provided it is not a product or service that competes with a product or service offered by Orbx and it is not an affiliate program link.
  • Promotional text for a commercial product or service is ok, provided there are no price(s) of product(s) or service(s) listed.
  • A link and promotional text for a site that is not commercial and does not contain product(s) and/or service(s) is allowed, provided the site is not sexual or does not violate Orbx community standards. The Orbx team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards. (Examples include sites about drugs and/or sex.)
  • Duplicate links to the same URL in a signature are not allowed.
  • Signatures that may be confused with official staff are not allowed

Do not post other vendor product announcements

Please do not post release announcements for *any* other company or developer's FS products. There are many other places where those developers can release their news and make those announcements, but these forums are not the appropriate place for them. Please note that any post which announces another developer's product will be deleted immediately without explanation.

Can you post screens from the freeware Grand Canyon and Death Valley as they have been participated by Orbx staff?

I would like to use a signature image that contains the pilot stats for the VA that I am flying for, but when trying to put this code in, for it,
http://www.vafinanci....=XXXXX&c=X&w=X inserting code for a img at the begining and end, it tells me that it is not allowed for whatever reason.
I would very much like to use this image as it is well within the guidlines for a signature and is even smaller than the max size specs for the signature image allowed. Is there any chance of making this possible Jay?

I don't understand how they could be a security risk, myself. But you've got the experience in that department. Thanks for clearing that up..
